If I asked you what you find beautiful about your partner, child or sibling you could roll off five things at the drop of a hat. If I then asked you what is beautiful about yourself chances are you would be tongue tied. So why is it easier to see beauty in others than ourselves? True beauty emanates from a person’s spirit and it is much easier to see another person’s sprit than our own. Our rational mind, fears, emotional wounds and indoctrination cloud our ability to see our true selves, the self we were born to be. We are addicted to our identities which are a reaction to our perceived experiences rather than an expression of our true essence.... our spirit. Our addiction to our identity is born from our assertions of separateness. “No one understands me, I am alone in this world, I don’t know myself, I’ll show them, I am unlovable, I’m not good enough”. An internal conflict is created as our spirit yearns to experience a oneness with all humanity and life and our identity fights like a screaming child to be separate. This war will not be resolved by it’s self, it will rage for a lifetime unless you have the courage to assert your will.... to choose your spirit and forsake the seductions of your identity. How do I find the courage to choose my spirit? Well you don’t have to do it alone. Actually you will never do it alone. When we set out on a path to experience our spirit we innately sense our oneness with the collective whole. This does not mean that all human spirits are the same, rather your spirit is a unique component of the whole. In the same way that a leaf, a stone and a drop of rain are not the same yet they are all components of the collective known as nature. By expressing your beauty/spirit you are acknowledging your role as a member of the feminine divine. As you commit to yourself and your truth you innately inspire others to be in their divine beauty which is the purest form of service. Our ability to see the beauty of another spirit is fundamental to our ability to love. To love ourselves we need to see the beauty of our own spirit. Loving others in itself can be hard but to truly love ourselves we need to see the beauty of our own spirit. loving others in itself can be hard but to truly love ourselves in a pure sense challenges our very perceptions of reality. Why do we need to love our selves? Because the people who love themselves find it impossible to take actions that cause self harm. They do only that which nurtures their spirit. They are committed to their own divinity. Secondly if we don't love our selves we are never able to fully love our partners, family or friends. This is because no matter how hard we try or how selfless we believe ourselves to be we are condemned to taking something from our beloved to fill something that is missing in ourselves. Here's a little game for you, walk to the bathroom mirror and say out loud, "I love myself" with conviction. I'm sure you felt awkward if indeed you even had the courage to give it a go. Too often we mistake self love with pride, ego or arrogance when in fact it is simply bearing witness to the beauty of our own spirit, which we don’t own. The paradox is that if we intend for our beauty to shine in this life self love isn't an optional character trait, it is essential. To own, live and breath those words, "I love myself", involves self transformation, to take a step into the unknown, to let go of control. To bow down in humility to the absolute beauty of the sprit that lies inside of us and to hold on to and taste that beauty every day. “Discover your True Beauty” workshops give women a tangible experience of their own inner beauty demonstrating that we all have a true purpose emanating from deep inside of us. Your true beauty is essentially your inner spirit which is innately beautiful.
